Skesa

Skesa (Teo Farley) is a Montreal-based DJ and producer whose recordings blend electronic and organic sounds. Skesa’s music has been influenced by a wide range of genres including house, techno, hip-hop and world music. Born in 1997, Teo was brought up listening to his parents’ trip hop and jazz records. Going on to study drums and percussions during his teenage years, he took part in various jazz and hip-hop bands. In early 2013, he started to gain taste in electronic music, eventually learning to produce and DJ.

Skesa’s debut EP was released in spring 2019 with the collaboration of artists from around the world including LayFullStop, Wasiu and Eric Biddines. His first single, “Mindset”, was featured on Future Classic. While his debut EP was mostly hip-hop focused, he’s embraced dance music more thoroughly since then. In late 2019 and early 2020, Teo has released a diverse set of dance singles and remixes that encompass complex percussions and textures. Notably, his recent remix of “Synergy” by Kallitechnis was released on a collaborative album with artists such as J.Robb and LOXE.

Skesa recently released his second EP, “System”. Inspired by British producers such as Bonobo and Four Tet, his reflective, abstract, yet tonally rich EP combines elements of techno and house, led by vivid percussions.
